Installing a swimming pool can be a great feature to add on to your backyard for hot summer days. Before excavation starts, our experts will come in and survey the site to get a better understanding of your soil condition; the access for machinery and the general environment.

The very first steps of designing a custom pool begins with our team meeting with you. Together we will discuss plans, designs and scope out what your dream pool is and how we can make it work in your backyard. In this step we create swimming pool plans, from an engineer. This will include fencing and landscaping as well as council’s approval. This is also where we look at access for machinery to come in when we start earth works.
After your plans have been signed off and approved, the Custom Design Pools team will organise the excavation team. We will mark your swimming pool out on your site. Then have a quick meeting with the excavators. Based on this inspection the team will be able to bring in the required machinery to excavate your site.
On the day of excavation, we start we removing any vegetation and topsoil that is over your site where your pool will be. We have all sorts of mini excavators which can squeeze through tight spaces and help dig up and remove the top soil.
We understand that a lot of soil will be removed from your site during the excavation stage. We can help with this removal of soil and all waste materials so that the rest of our team can work freely in constructing your swimming pool.
Once your site is properly excavated, the pool building begins.
After the pool has been boxed, steeled and sprayed with concrete, we move on to plaster band for tiles, laying and grouting tiles. Then the plaster band for copings, lay and grout copings. Then the pool plumbing and pool filtration equipment plus lights will be installed and pressure tested.
Then once all landscaping is finished, we prep to finish the pool in New Zealand Pool Pebble plaster.
Once your pool is in the ground, the landscaping around your pool area will begin! We have a great team of landscapers that we use and they always source vegetation that will look best in your backyard.
Now that your swimming pool is now complete your Custom Design Pools builder will hand over your new pool!
He will go over how all the filtration works and how to stay on top of cleaning it. We can also organise you a valet service if you would rather have an expert to continue to care for your pool.
